Bigs & Littles NYC Mentoring to Launch W.O.W. (World of Work) Mentoring in Fall 2017
As Bigs & Littles NYC Mentorings builds on 115 years of expertise in one-to-one community based mentoring, we are thrilled to announce the launch of the agency’s first W.O.W. (World of Work) Mentoring Program. As part of this program, ten 10th grade students from Academy for Software Engineering (AFSE) will be matched with workplace mentors from our new corporate partner, Good Apple Digital.
Under the leadership of Founder Al Muzaurieta, Good Apple Digital, a boutique media agency, is partnering with CBSBB to pilot W.O.W. Employees of Good Apple bring experience in digital media, marketing, and advertising, as well as their own life experiences, to share with their mentees in the W.O.W. program. Good Apple is generously sponsoring the yearlong program.
W.O.W. mentoring matches will meet bi-weekly for the 2017-2018 academic year at the Good Apple office. Parallel to Bigs & Littles NYC's traditional mentoring program, the curriculum for W.O.W. matches, under the guidance of Program Manager Ana Melo, will cover 21st Century Super Skills, with an overarching focus on workplace exposure and career preparation. Bigs & Littles NYC Mentoring looks forward to working with Good Apple Digital to expand the agency’s reach and serve youth in this new capacity.
Bigs & Littles NYC Mentoring prides itself on being an innovative youth services organization and we are always looking for new, creative ways to better serve youth and families in New York City. Please be in touch with Susan Varghese, Senior Director of Mentoring Programs and Support Services (firstname.lastname@example.org) if you know of similar opportunities for expansion.
